“The Hu” live in concert at The Broadberry in Richmond, Va, on Nov. 11, 2019. They are a Mongolian folk rock band who perform using traditional Mongolian instrumentation, including the Morin khuur, the Tovshuur, and Mongolian throat singing. The band calls their style of music “hunnu rock”, hu inspired by the Hunnu, an ancient Turkic/Mongol empire, known as Xiongnu in western culture.

Photographer’s Note: I was introduced to this group several months previous this concert by a fellow Klingon who felt it captured the essence of what Klingon music would be like.  I have a great respect for the Mongolian culture and feel blessed to have seen these guys live in concert.
