This past weekend, we decided we wanted to get out of the house and do something.

As wife had a hankering for apples, we chose to set course for Carter Mountain Apple Orchard over in Charlottesville.

Now, tickets were sold out so the option to pick apples was out the window, but it was free to take the scenic route through the orchard.

All you had to do was follow the road and follow the signs.

Apples were on the trees to either side, but could not stop to pick.

About halfway or so through the orchard, you would come up to a spot where you could either place an order or do as we did … pick up an online order.

The REAL FIND for me during this tour was the rusted, abandoned old pickup truck that just added to the character of the place.

It makes me want to go back at some point just to do some closer in photography of this lovely beast as it cries out for a serious photo shoot.

Oh the possibilities! … Future visits are guaranteed.
