The Start of Exploration

Not quite a year and a half ago, I thought about beginning trips out exploring …. then I was laid off.

This past February, life was finally getting to a point I could see the dream of just exploring to explore finally happening.

And then the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Although the pandemic is not yet past, I do feel myself at a point that I can organize my gear for adventuring AND for blogging / writing.

AND nothing stopping me from beginning to head out even if with an air of social distancing and caution.

So look for those posts in the near future.

In the meantime, there is nothing stopping me from seeking out roads less traveled and seeing where they lead … especially when it simply involves taking the LONG way to pick my wife up from work.

That’s exactly what I did yesterday evening.

I left home with about 40 minutes extra time and pointed the  myself towards Starts Draft.

Found myself turning onto Old White Hill Road and following it from one end to the other.

Followed that up by hitting a few roads I knew would connect me at some point (most likely) to Fishersville with enough lead time to be there before Lee clocked out.

The lesson here is one doesn’t have to be closeted completely away to still socially isolate and distance.

Can’t wait to  do it again later today … as well as find out more about a possible bike.
